From a girl who really liked a television show about FBI agents to one of the biggest up and coming artists to watch, 18 year old Alexa Valentino is writing her legacy as a singer/songwriter and she’s not wasting any time. People quickly fell in love with the comfort she radiated as an influencer only to discover her music, which made them feel just that and more.
Her writing explores places many are afraid to go, such as Borderline Personality Disorder, suicidal thoughts, religious trauma and your run of the mill relationship struggles. Alexa’s biggest songwriting inspirations are many different young women who were where she is now not too long ago. Pieces of her melodies and lyrics are influenced by artists such as Gracie Abrams, Nessa Barrett, Lexi Jayde, Lizzy McAlpine and more.
Alexa incorporates a wide variety of instrumentation in her music, and is best known for her electric guitar solos, stacked harmonies and acoustic/synth combinations. Most of her tracks feature her on piano, an instrument she’s been playing for a decade and has been teaching for half of one. All of Alexa’s songs can be streamed and downloaded on Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora etc…
Alexa first stepped on a stage at Long Island's John W. Engeman Theater as Young Kangaroo in SEUSSICAL. Since then, she's appeared at the Smithtown PAC (LES MISERABLES, ANNIE) and at the Davenport Theatre in NYC as Ellen in NUMBER THE STARS. Alexa has also appeared in Commercials, on Film and in a few web-series. "The Mortician" has been picked up and the first episode is currently streaming on Amazon Prime, she voiced the role of Daisy the puppy in a TV pilot “Herbie and the Smushies”, a print add for Playground Sessions and a main role on NBC's miniseries “Ministry of Evil, The Twisted Cult of Tony Alamo”. She begins filming a full length horror movie, "Mittens" where she has a lead role, starting in September.
She has trained with Broadway Artists Alliance, The Broadway Workshop and The Performing Option with Madelyn Burns. She dances with Thommie Retter and Janine Molinari and studies voice with Badiene Magaziner and Joseph Olsen.
Alexa became passionate about the cause of anti bullying in elementary school. She came off the bus one day in 2nd grade in tears because kids were throwing dirt on a child with special needs and told her mom who quickly told the principal. She was happy that the behavior that had gone on for a while had stopped.
When Alexa was 10 and activity working as an actress in NYC, she became aware of an organization by the name of Free2luv. Many of her friends were becoming spokespeople for them. Alexa was already interested in the cause so she quickly took the pledge and became an advocate for the organization. She made PSA’s for them and took pictures with people wherever she could with their signs that say “Rock Love Not Hate” or “Friends Don't Let Friends Bully”.
